Common Interview Questions

What is the most important thing you, as a web designer, can provide to a company?
I can fix whatever problem they have and give them value. Anyone can make a website pretty, but I'm a problem solver. Yes, I can get you more customers. Yes, I can make your website have fewer bugs. Yes, I can use data to create a customer profile to increase business. Yes, I can fix your shopping cart problem so sales return to normal. Yes, I can help your business grow.

While working, what is your biggest weakness?
When I am working on a project, I get obsessed until the work is finished, even if I have to finish the work at home.

Do you work well with others?
I have a filter and think before I talk. I have emotional intelligence and never gossip. Some people just point out employees' weaknesses and hurt their feelings, but I can tell when different kinds of personalities are bothered by a situation, which can make me a good leader. I always try to think of others' point of view and needs when working with others. And it is my goal to work as a team and not see others as competition.

What types of books do you like to read?

  1. Books to improve my skills at work. I like to stay up-to-date on the latest information in the field.
  2. Investing: I think learning to invest and budget your money is one of the most important things a person can do.
  3. Stories about people overcoming difficult times because that is where a lot of wisdom in life comes from.
  4. Books about business: I may own many businesses one day. And it is also related to investing. If you can understand how a business works, you will know if it is a good investment or not.
  5. Psychology books: I am interested in how the mind works, why do people do certain things.

How did you handle a difficult work problem?
I remember we had some code that was not working, and no one could find the flaw in the code to get the website to work properly. They wanted to waste weeks trying to fix the flaw, but it would also take weeks to start over. Since there was no guarantee that we would ever find the flaw in thousands of lines of code, that is when I learned sometimes it is better to start over than to try to fix a hidden problem that is hard to see.

What is your greatest strength?
My greatest strength is communication. I strongly believe in not making assumptions, as I have learned from reading the book The Four Agreements. Whenever I am assigned a project, I make sure to gather all the necessary information and understand what is expected of me in great detail. For instance, if someone expresses the desire to enhance sales by improving the website, I take the initiative to clarify their exact intentions. Do they want the website to be more user-friendly and visually appealing? Or do they also want to gather customer data and track their behavior? Perhaps they aim to optimize the buying process for customers. By seeking clarification, I ensure that I deliver precisely what is required.

How would you act if there is something in the job description that you cannot do yet?
If there is something in the job description that I cannot do yet, I would approach it with determination and a growth mindset. Throughout my career, I have consistently embraced new challenges and actively sought opportunities to learn and grow. I genuinely enjoy the process of acquiring new skills and knowledge, and I have become quite adept at breaking down complex tasks into smaller, more manageable steps. I firmly believe that persistence is my superpower, and I never give up, regardless of the obstacles that may arise. I am confident that with my unwavering grit and commitment to continuous learning, I would be able to overcome any gaps in my current abilities and successfully fulfill the demands of the job.

Why should a business want to hire you?
Because I'm a professional problem solver. When someone was or is self-employed, they must wear many hats and outwork everyone else.

Are you open to other job positions?
Yes, I am open to other job positions. I am open to exploring different opportunities and I believe that my skills are transferable to various job roles. I understand that every job requires a unique set of skills and experiences, and I am confident that my abilities can be applied effectively in different fields. I am adaptable and willing to learn new things, which enables me to be flexible and open to different job positions. I believe that my versatile skill set makes me a valuable candidate in the job market, as I can bring a fresh perspective and contribute effectively to various industries.
